A Romantic Downtown Calgary Engagement Session

Engagements

Brooklyn & Derek

It has been a hot minute since Brad and I got to sneak away to the big city! Brooklyn and Derek’s romantic downtown Calgary engagement session was the perfect night all around! We could not have asked for more perfect weather. That sunset glow was magnificent! And this sweet couple was such a joy to get to know!

I was so excited to be able to come Calgary again for an engagement session. We decided to start at Calgary’s downtown Central Library. I have done wedding portraits there before but this was a first for an engagement session. It was definitely a little crowded as we began shooting but these two were instant pros!

After some beautiful portraits at the library, Brooklyn and I decided to meet downtown at the Hudson Bay walkway. However the crowds downtown were so crazy this past weekend! We just couldn’t seem to make it there no matter how many times we drove around. I decided that we should head straight for Rundle Ruins in order to take full advantage of the sunset glow!

We arrived at Rundle Ruins and I was so sad to see all the construction they were doing around the area. The large open field behind was all fenced off. But that ruins were still so beautiful and working my magic I made sure shooting an engagement session in the middle of a construction site was not the feel in these romantic portraits! My favourite images of the entire night came from these ruins! If you haven’t been there, it is a must see! And what a perfect spot for these two to get comfortable!

The last stop on our Romantic Downtown Engagement Session tour had to be Scotsman’s Hill! An absolute perfect view of downtown Calgary! As the sun set behind the city we got to capture the most romantic portraits in the sunset glow.

It was such a pleasure to be able to get to know these two! Brad and I were laughing so much and we absolutely cannot wait to be able to capture their wedding in September!
