A Bright and Colourful Backyard Wedding

This sweet couples bright and colourful backyard wedding day has been a long time in the making! I booked them in my calendar way back in the beginning of 2020 and have been looking forward to their wedding day ever since. However, because of all the challenges the pandemic brought, they had to wait over 2 years for this day! I’ll tell you right now, It was worth the wait!

After all that Jesaca and Thomas have endured the past couple years both working in the health care industry, they deserved an incredible day celebrating their new life together.

All of their changes and pivots led them to the backyard of a beautiful Air B&B on a golf course in Calgary Alberta and it was so perfect! It was the perfect size for their intimate wedding. 40 of their closest family and friends gathered together and celebrated alongside of them. Jesaca had planned out every last hand made detail and executed the decor with precision! The bright pops of colour everywhere really captured the essence of this couples bright and loving spirit! Dare I add that it was also the ONLY day without rain in what has to be 3 full weeks! The sun shined perfectly at a decent 22 degrees(which is a huge change from their near +40 degree engagement session) and the whether was absolutely beautiful the entire day!

After our portrait time we came back to the house and enjoyed SPAGHETTI PIZZA! Guys, if you haven’t already tried this… You’re completely missing out! The bride and groom searched high and low for “Calgary’s best pizza” and I think they nailed it! If you’re in the area make sure you check out Tommy’s Pizza because it does not disappoint! When Thomas sent me home with a full box of it I knew my whole week would be spent in pizza-getti heaven.

I felt so loved and welcomed by their entire family. Sometimes I still find it hard to believe how lucky I have been to be able to work with such sweet couples and their families who trust me with the precious memories of their wedding day! Thomas and Jesaca both said to me multiple times during their wedding, “Whatever you want to do, we trust you!” and I that means so much to me. They trusted me completely and that honestly made such a huge difference in how the day felt. It was a joy to create and capture their day and I can’t wait to share these images!
