The Plotnikoff Family

I had the absolute privilege to capture this sweet family session before the rain hit hard over the weekend! Melissa and Brandon were just the sweetest couple to work with. And their boys, Oliver and Bowen were a whole other level of cuteness I didn’t even know existed! Family photos with 2 young toddlers can be a challenge for some. But I was so impressed with how incredibly candid this session turned out with these littles!

A Pivot for the Weather

After looking at the weather radar most of the day I knew we were going to be hit with a pretty big storm during the evening of this families photo session. I decided to text Melissa and see what her thoughts were. We decided to meet up earlier than we discussed and try to beat the rain! Wow, was that ever a good call! We finished up their session just before we would have began at their original time and immediately you could feel the cold front move in and the rain started shortly after.

Thankfully with some wise decisions we ended up with the most perfect weather during their sweet family session!

My Favourite Photo Location

Since there was such a high chance of rain I decided to also move our session down the road a ways. I knew if we were going to be hit with rain I was going to want to make sure we had access to some tall trees to cover us as we continued to shoot. Michener Park in Red Deer is always my absolute favourite spot for ANY kind of session! I would say it is my definitely my ‘go to’ spot in town. With some fun walking trails, and bridges that overlook beautiful ponds, we were able to have freedom at any angle.

A Candid Family Session

Having 2 little ones at a young age, it can be very challenging to get those ideal posed photos with everyone looking at the camera. Sometimes you just need to play with your kids and embrace this season of life. Melissa and Brandon did this perfectly! We were able to capture some sweet candid moments with their boys that I am certain they will cherish for many years to come!
