Meet Wendy and Chris! I had the absolutely pleasure of photographing their very chilly downtown Red Deer winter Engagement session Sunday evening. Despite the crisp, cold March air, we had so much fun getting to know each other! 

I first met Wendy and Chris at another wedding I was photographing last summer in 2022. Their friends Susan and Mike’s Hilltop Wedding Centre wedding was one of my all time favourite days! Not just because it was beautiful and special but because I also got to meet Wendy and Chris who will be celebrating their wedding day this coming August 2023. 

The Sweetest Proposal Story EVER!!

Wendy and Chris met in university while they were both completing their pharmacist degrees. Chris proposed to Wendy back in December 2021 by folding 1000 paper cranes! There is an old myth saying that if someone can fold 1000 origami cranes, they will be granted a wish. Chris, with the help of some friends, folded those 1000 paper cranes to be able to give Wendy a wish. Then he asked her to marry him so he could grant her a thousand more wishes! Of course she said YES!! 

With their beautiful love story in mind I knew I needed to find a beautiful location for their engagement session! The downtown Red Deer train bridge was the perfect setting! 

With the cold weeks we had been having I was a little worried that we would be too cold. But the sun came out to shine some warmth on their love scene! We had the most special time together and I cannot wait for their warm summer wedding this August!
